Our History

1970s

The Genesis - Consolidated Cartage Company was formed by Jim McFarlin. Providing P&D services for the LTL industry, Consolidated Cartage laid the groundwork for a bright future in the logistics industry.

1980s

Diversification – Nashville Warehousing Company was purchased thus providing entrance into the world of warehousing services. M&W Transportation Company was also formed to provide truckload services to the market.

1990s

Growth and Investment – Significant investments are made in technology and infrastructure as the companies position for and begin a sustained period of growth.

2000s

Rebranding and Leadership Transitions – each business unit becomes rebranded under the M&W name. Separate companies providing distinct services are marketed under the M&W Logistics Group brand. Leadership transitions from first to second generation of family operation.

2010s

Continued Technological Investments – Early adoption of technologies positions M&W to provide industry leading advancements in safety and services provided to the marketplace.

2020s and Beyond

Gearing up for Transitional Growth – Focus shifts toward development of the next generation of family leadership and teams are built out to propel forward a period of aggressive growth in markets and services.
